The Mud Springs Collective:
The Mud Springs Collective is the Ambient / Chaos musical movement created for the “Hannah
House movie”. It consists of virtually the entire cast and crew of the production. Many musicians
and non-musicians combined efforts to create a free-form percussive orchestration. The Goal - to
emulate tense and dramatic aspects of the film by using an array of musical instruments in conjunc-tion with non-musical objects. Item such as metal pipes, plastic toys, cap guns, bed frames, paint cans, beads, leather shoes, etc. are used as percussive elements and layered with altered musical instruments (out of tune banjos, broken drums, eastern string instruments, accordions etc..). The Result? Absolute brilliance meshed with a horrible cacophony of chaos. The two flow together like wheat stalks dancing in the Nebraska prairie wind. Sometimes the brilliance overtakes the chaos and sometimes it is the other way around, but it always manages to create textures and visions suitable for a desolate prairie environment.
